The latest results are online and the table as been updated.

There were some big wins this week. So it might be a time to highlight that we only record the first 10 goals scored. This keeps the results close enough to give everyone a sporting chance.

I also made some more errors with the results last week. We’ve now rectified these and updated both the results page and table.

Round 3 – Late Change Announcement

Round 3 kicks off tomorrow with a late field change. South City 2nd’s vs Shirley Strikers has now been moved to South Hagley S1.

The weather is now cooling and the grounds are getting softer. If it is still raining remember to check the draw after 8am on Saturday for any cancellation notices.

Just a minor update to the results and table today. I’d recorded the Ox-E-Gen v Sino United results the wrong way around.

The Round 2 results are up and the table as been updated.

Results
There was a lower than average CP awarded overall this week. Please ensure you’re familiar with the the rules and expectations of those competing in the competition. This includes referees.

Postponing matches
If you’ve got a church event coming up that will clash with match day then please let the opposition and organisers know as soon as possible. Postponed matches can even be played a week early if we’re given enough notice, and will save us bunching matches at the end of the season when the grounds are in a poorer state.

Players looking for teams
We’ve still got a few individuals who are looking for teams to sign up with. Let us know if you’ve got space in your team so we can pass on their details.

Nets
Just a reminder if you haven’t got your goal net sorted, we’re putting in an order this week. Nets are compulsory and usually retail for $240 a pair – we can supply them for $100 each. Let us know if you’d like a net ordered for your team as well.

Round 2 kicks off tomorrow. There’s a good weather forecast and a chance for some amazing football. We’ve got one late postponement in division 2, all other games are going ahead as planned. Please remember to be at your allocated field and set up on time.

The Dragons Need Your Support This Sunday 2pm

Calling on all Christchurch club footballers and associated friends and family to get to ASB Football Park this Sunday 2pm kick off to support Canterbury United.

It’s an absolutely huge match for the Canterbury United Dragons against Waitakere, with both the Oceania League and a Grand Final spot on the line! Its the biggest game at this level in Christchurch for some time and we really want to make it a magnificent occasion. Your club support could well make the difference. Even if its the only game you attend at the new turf all year we would love to see you here to help make it an intimidating environment for our respected opposition.

Please pass the word and bring your friends and family with you. See you Sunday, $10 adults, kids under 15 free with paying adult.

The draw is now live and available here.

All games will kick off at 12:30pm, with the exception of Ox-E-Gen’s games which are played at 2:30. You’ll see that our fields have already been allocated for the full season! Please ensure you still check the website the day before match day to ensure you don’t miss any last minute changes.

Welcome to the 2012 season

This year we have 22 teams competing in 2 divisions. The first division is made up almost entirely of teams who competed in div 1 and 2 last year. The second division has filled out with new comers and div 3. The draw has been submitted to Mainland Football and we’re currently waiting for confirmation of the schedule.

We will be kicking off Round 1 this Saturday at 12:30pm. The draw will be posted here as soon as it has been finalised.

Final Week for Team Registrations

Team registrations are now trickling in and we’re looking at another full schedule. All registrations must be in by this Saturday, 31st March. Registration fees must also be paid to confirm your team’s entry. Payment information is available on the registration form. Please include your team name as the reference if paying via bank transfer.

The pre-season meeting for captains and organisers will also be held this Saturday morning. It is not essential that everyone attend, but there will be some important changes discussed. This is also an opportunity to contribute to the discussion on the competition and how we run it. We should be no more than an hour.

Where: The Lamb of God Centre, 19 Thames Street, Mairehau

Please note, we cannot extend the registration window. Any late registrations will have to be declined.
