The results from Round 6 and last weekend’s catch up matches have been posted. It was great to get some positive feedback on player performance this week!
Some questions have been asked about the remainder of the season in light of the recent quakes and disruption. So long as Mainland Football can supply fields for us to play on we will continue and persevere with the schedule of fixtures. Players should ensure they allow extra travel time to matches and bring bottled water. Winter has now arrived too so it is time to wrap up, and bring extra dry cloths.
Have a great week.

There are no matches scheduled this weekend so enjoy having a day off!
Please note, we’ve received a request from Mainland Football to stop using metal pegs to secure nets. Forgotten pegs can damage the mowers and cause injury! Please replace all metal pegs with plastic ones ASAP.

The round 5 results have been posted. This was not a good weekend for the CIFL with serious injuries and fights caused by sloppy play! There are some rules which have been clearly laid out on this website since the start of the season. The first line of the page reads
Games are to be played with a Christian spirit.
This is not negotiable. This is a social Christian soccer league and will be played as such by ALL participants. If teams and their players cannot abide the rules of the CIFL then they should make their way to another competition.
We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy towards violence and any player who assaults another will be immediately ejected from the league.
Communication with the referee is also strictly the duty of the captain. Any arguing with the referee will earn players a 10 minute sin-bin… and you won’t be much help to your team from the side-line.
